Context
In the early 2000s, Fert and Cneap helped Fifata launch an agricultural training system for young people preparing to take over family farms. Today, 6 agricultural colleges provide a 3-year initial training programme, with boarding and/or short training courses, for young women and men who want to become farmers.
Young people also receive 2 years of support for their professional integration after completing their training. This includes individual or group advisory services, support for setting up their farming activity, and connections with partners.
Fekama, the federation of agricultural colleges and a specialized FO within the Fifata group, was formally established in 2016. The entire system is led by the farming profession.
