Fert is a French association for international cooperation for agricultural development in developing and emerging countries.
Its purpose is to contribute towards creating conditions in these countries that will enable farmers to improve their living and working conditions and to contribute towards achieving food security for their country.
Fert supports farmers in setting up organisations (producer organisations, cooperatives, farm credit unions, training centers, etc.) enabling them to find sustainable solutions to the problems they encounter as they exercise their trade and defend their interests.
Fert is conducting some twenty programmes on the ground in 13 countries where it mobilises farm operators and technicians in a solidarity-based approach so they can share their experience and professional commitment in running their organisations.
Fert is a member of AgriCord, a network that brings together 12 agri-agencies in 10 countries: Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Philippines, Senegal, Spain, Sweden.
