In Brazil, in the State of Minas Gerais, Fert has helped to maintain a dairy business in cheese processing and recovery of raw milk cheese in two regions: : Serro et Canastra.

One of the main actions has been to recognize the cheese and all its qualities (production area, craftsmanship …). With many players, especially producers, a process was initiated and two protected geographical indications (PGI) were obtained in 2012 for the “queijo artesanal do Serro Minas” and “queijo Minas da Serra da Canastra artesanal”.
