After three years of action, led by Fert with Afdi Touraine, in Morocco (regions of Khénifra and Chefchaouen) and Mali (regions of Sikasso and Koutiala), local cooperatives and farmer informal groups now apply practices from the principles of Conservation Agriculture: direct seeding (DS), ground cover and rotations.
In Morocco, the main thrust has involved the development of a prototype DS drill for cereals, from an innovative concept from Irstea (formerly Cemagref) .
In Mali, it is mainly cover crops that have shown positive results for farmers.
