“Supporting the integration of young people in family agriculture in the South,” was the theme of the conference organized by Montpellier Supagro
and partners from 4 to 6 June in Montpellier.

A delegation of Madagascar, consisting of Misaina Randriamampianina (Coordinator of the Federation of Agricultural Colleges Madagascar), Mamy Emilson Randriamasinjaka (Moderator Young Farmers) and Christophe Bouland (Technical Advisor Fert on thematic training) have presented the experience of Agricultural Colleges Madagascar in the training and employment of young farmers in this event.

The various exchanges during the three days of workshops brought out that there is still very little action and research on this topic and that reflections and sharing should continue.

On the sidelines of the workshop, the delegation of Madagascar was able to meet partners and stakeholders in agricultural training and Rural Madagascar in France:

  • Visiting the farm school of Pezenas and Ressins was very interesting for the Malagasy teams where they could interact with Principals, teachers, farm managers and students;
  • An intervention team at the General Assembly of Fert on June 10th prompted numerous exchanges among members;
  • The trip was completed in participating in the meeting of regional executives CNEAP and meetings with teams from DGER / Breci (Bureau of European Relations and International Cooperation at the Directorate General for Education and Research ) and UNMFREO.
