History
Fert, created in 1981, originated from French cereal organizations and is supported by Unigrains. It mobilizes the know-how and experience of French farmers’ organizations.
An agri-agency
As a member of the international AgriCord alliance, Fert works alongside 12 other agricultural agencies from 5 continents, sharing resources, methods, and experience-based practices to foster more effective cooperation in support of resilient, sustainable, and attractive family farming for future generations.
Our mission
Fert supports farmers who organize themselves to solve common challenges. Our actions aim to improve their living and working conditions and the viability of their organizations. Fert operates with respect for farmers’ autonomy and takes into account the socio-economic context of each country.
Our approach
The farmer is at the heart of our action. Active listening and the ability to facilitate thinking and discussions are the pillars of Fert’s approach, which is grounded in close support and exchanges between peers. The objective is to build a relationship of trust with farmers, enabling them to express their challenges and co-create sustainable solutions – with an emphasis on continuity and long-term impact.
