Agricultural development project in Southern Madagascar (French)
« FERT and FIFATA have implemented from 2004 to 2008 a rural development project in 15 municipalities in southern Madagascar. This film shows how, by a close approach, we can accompany groups of peasants in an improvement process that results in technical and economic tangible results. Such approach is long term and can help farmers to organize themselves to manage all functions that meet common needs (supplies of fingerlings, secure farmland, training young people to the profession of farmer, etc.) ».

Creation of agricultural colleges in Madagascar
« In Madagascar, FIFATA (Fikambanana Fampivoarana ny Tantsaha), a farmer organization at national level, has committed itself to the future of rural youth by making agricultural training its privileged axis of work and advocacy. With the support of many partners, since 2003, it offers to peasant’s children, girls and boys, the possibility of studying in agricultural colleges to become professional farmers. After 3 years of training, these young people benefit from support services to achieve their individual professional project. By giving voice to locals (farmers, youth, trainers), the film presents this action and shows the hopes it raises. »
